Production/ Maintenance Technician
Adaptavate is a business of the future, a dynamic team of engineers, thinkers, parents, walkers, traders, dreamers, climbers, scientists, gardeners, friends, family and visionaries. People who think differently to make a big impact through our work… together.
We have a pipeline of innovative, low-carbon, building products that we are developing and launching in the UK and beyond. These products will play a pivotal part in the requirement for decarbonisation of buildings, and therefore our economy. Our research is pioneering in pushing the carbon envelope and in the coming years our products will evolve from being low carbon, to carbon negative.
Our team is growing and, to achieve our vision, we are looking for an experienced Production/ Maintenance Technician who will support the innovation, development and continuous improvement of our pilot line as well as take part in board production and QA within our facility. This position will work alongside a team of engineers, scientists, and technicians to further develop our products and processes.
Agility is our strength and our team values creative thinking. If you have experience of electrical controls wiring, mechanical assembly, maintenance, pneumatics, troubleshooting, and enjoy problem-solving and are looking for an opportunity to make a difference, then we want to hear from you.
Your role
We are looking to recruit an experienced practical candidate who is adaptable and proactive, to work with us to not only help in pushing and developing our pilot line forward but who will also be part of the team producing and inspecting the products we manufacture. We have built a pioneering production line that will make Breathaboard for commercial projects and need to develop its capability, robustness and agility. The pilot line delivers revolutionary new products and serves as a platform for continuous process development and innovation, in which you play a large part in moving forward.
This is not a standard mass production line – or a standard company. As our Production/ Maintenance Technician, you will join a small team taking pride in maintaining a high workshop standard; optimising processes and tools and ultimately the pilot line's growth and fine-tuning. In addition, there will be an opportunity to get involved across multiple opportunities within the production and engineering teams.

Our Production/ Maintenance Technician:
* Has a minimum of 5 years of experience in a production, construction, maintenance or manufacturing environment
* Is a problem solver who seeks continuous improvement and isn’t afraid to ask “what if?”
* Enjoys detailed work, with an eye for accuracy
* Can work autonomously to a high standard
* May have worked with/ to standard operating procedures and engineering drawings
* Demonstrates a ‘can-do’, positive attitude and a willingness to roll up their sleeves to get the job done
* May have experience of preventative maintenance, controls wiring and detailed mechanical assembly
* May have the 18th edition wiring regulations qualification
* Enjoys working as part of a small, goal-oriented team that wants to make a positive impact
* Loves to learn and develop existing and new skills
* Is committed to furthering our response to climate concerns
In addition to the above, we would love to learn about any mechanical or engineering experience you may have with assembly, maintenance, and electrical disciplines.
