ROLE: Mental Health Support Worker
LOCATION: The Lighthouse, Burnham-on-Sea (TA8)
SALARY: £12.60 - £13.30* per hour
HOURS: 35 hours a week
SHIFTS: 08:30 - 21:00 Occasional sleep in if needed to cover.
About The Lighthouse
At The Lighthouse, we support nine people with mental health needs or those who may have a dual diagnosis. We work with individuals of varied abilities to help them reach their full potential. We enable people to develop their skills, strengths, and resilience.
We assist them in developing their own resources to self-manage and stay well. We provide the right support to help them develop coping techniques that can significantly impact their everyday lives. We recognize that everyone is an individual with unique needs, and we encourage, support, and motivate them to achieve their optimum level of independence.
As a Support Worker, you will be involved in the day-to-day support and routine of the people within the service, including:
* Day-to-day support and routine of the individuals we assist.
* Promoting independence while helping them live fulfilling lives.
* Supporting and encouraging the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
* Maintaining and assisting with healthcare needs, including accompanying individuals to routine appointments or administering medication.
* Teaching life skills such as budgeting, paying bills, and shopping.
* Assisting with personal care as required.
* Helping with domestic tasks including cleaning and cooking.
* Providing guidance and encouragement through physical and emotional support.
Experience within the care sector is not necessary as we offer full training, coaching, and development.
