The Role:
Based in our Head Office, the Transport Manager will pro-actively manage insurance, licensing and permit related matters in the safest and most cost-effective way. In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with all vehicle and transport associated laws and regulations, whilst maintaining continuous and effective control of the vehicle operator's licence. This is a hands-on role in which you will also manage, motivate and lead a team of transport staff based throughout the UK, providing support and guidance as needed.
About You
Applicants must have:
•Full clean driving licence
•Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in Road Haulage
•Strong operational background in vehicle fleet management.
•Experience managing compliance including audit frequency across numerous locations.
•Experience managing a team, preferably remotely.
•Excellent administration skills and attention to detail
•Extensive knowledge of Vehicle Operators licence regulations
•Experience of implementing initiative to support and improve driver road safety and behaviour.
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and proprietary databases
•Effective communication skills across all levels and disciplines
•The ability to adapt and react to change in a challenging and dynamic environment.
•Knowledge of FORS accreditation (preferred – not essential)
