The role:
* Assist the procurement office in delivering fair procurement services promoting value for money, adopting best practice and ensuring operation within a legal framework.
* Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to advise on processes, policies and procedures to comply with relevant contract regulations.
* Keep abreast of changes in legislation and policies.
* Assist with and advise on compliance reviews of existing and new contracts.
* Maintain procurement systems and records.
* Assist budget holders with contract management through training, development and consultation.
* Assist departments in the preparation of business cases.
* Assist with the preparation of procurement and contract management reports.
* Develop, issue and evaluate quotations and tenders.
The Person:
As the successful candidate you will have the following background and experience:
Essential:
* Be working towards a Level 4 MCIPS qualification with at least 1 year’s related experience with procurement, tendering and contract management processes.
OR
* Be able to demonstrate 2 years’ relevant experience in the above.
* A broad working knowledge of procurement tendering and contract management processes.
* Experience in the writing and presentation of reports.
Desirable:
* Experience working in a public sector procurement environment.
* Experience applying procurement procedures and managing procurement processes including tenders and quotations.
