SEN Teaching Assistant:

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

About the Role:
Teaching Personnel is recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated Outstanding SEN school in Dudley. The school caters to pupils aged 4-19 with severe and profound learning difficulties, including those with Autism Spectrum Conditions and complex medical needs.The school’s innovative curriculum focuses on five key areas: Communication, Thinking, Well-being, Body, and World. Each pupil’s unique needs are met through a personalised approach guided by their Education Health Care Plan (EHCP). The school also prioritises practical, hands-on learning, often engaging with the local community to enrich students’ skills and experiences.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support for SEN pupils, working 1:1 and with small groups.
Help students overcome barriers to learning and develop confidence.
Assist with general classroom tasks and behaviour management.
Use effective strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour.
Motivate and inspire students to actively engage in their education.
Must have an enhanced child and adult DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
What We’re Looking For:
Previous experience working with SEN children in a school or similar setting (preferred).
Confidence in working with vulnerable individuals on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.
A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach to learning and behaviour support.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
