About the role:
Civil Enforcement Officers are key front line staff managing traffic for the Council’s Parking Services. The North area includes Llandrindod, Knighton, Welshpool, Newtown and Machynlleth where there are pay and display car parks as well as On Street parking restrictions within these towns and other surrounding towns and communities. The position is crucial to ensure traffic is
managed appropriately to ensure free flow of traffic thereby giving stakeholders reassurance that Powys is a safe place to visit and live.

What you will do:
• Ensure the Council’s “pay and display” machines are in working order undertaking minor maintenance and reporting faults.
• Provide assistance to the public when questioned about parking related issues ranging from charges to policy and procedures.
• Patrol On and Off- street parking areas and issue Penalty Charge Notices, as necessary, ensuring compliance with Traffic Regulation Orders.
• Investigate reports of abandoned and nuisance vehicles, in accordance with Council policy and within its statutory duty requirements.
• Responsible for the safekeeping, care and maintenance of equipment issued on a personal basis, including hand-held computers, printers, cameras, video and communication equipment and allocated Council vehicle.
