About The Role:
Brief summary of duties:
1. Investigates and resolves a range of problems.
2. Leads, supervises, and trains a team of staff.
3. May install, maintain service, and repair a range of equipment.
4. May process or order supplies.
5. Communicates technical information to departmental colleagues and interacts with staff, suppliers, patients, or the public where persuasion is needed.
6. Professional knowledge acquired through vocational qualification level 3, City and Guilds or equivalent, plus additional knowledge acquired through training and experience to diploma or equivalent level.
7. Investigates problems/issues and finds solutions, including day-to-day operational decisions and delegation of work.
8. Organizes and adjusts rotas, plans work schedules, including coordinating contractors and suppliers.
9. Utilizes tools and equipment, requiring a high level of dexterity.
10. Handles incidental contact with patients and visitors, addressing client queries and complaints regarding equipment and service issues.
11. Proposes changes to practices and implements departmental policies.
12. Assembles, dismantles, or ensures safe use of equipment; orders and maintains security of stock.
13. Supervises staff, trains apprentices, support workers, and trainees in own area of work.
14. Records personally generated information and completes timesheets or similar records.
15. Participates in audits and surveys.
16. Determines own work within established parameters, referring to a manager when necessary.
Area of Responsibility:
* Direct line management of supervision, holding daily site meetings, documenting actions, delegating duties, and setting objectives.
* Weekly handover to Domestic Manager/Operational Support Manager, providing information in a timely manner.
* Focus areas include daily checks, working with HR Manager on grievances/investigations, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
