We are currently seeking a Sales Manager to join our Commercial team at Thatcham Research. As part of the Commercial team, you will be uncovering new Commercial and Sales opportunities across the Automotive vertical and actively selling to Vehicle Manufacturers (VM’s) and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s).
As our new Sales Manager, you will have the opportunity to travel internationally to identify and develop new customer opportunities along with building relationships for our Automotive product portfolio.
Your Responsibilities:
* Identify new sales opportunities to Automotive customers and build lasting meaningful relationships by identifying the right contacts across the VM and OEM sectors, developing new opportunities for conversion.
* Promote Automotive products/services addressing or predicting clients’ objectives and negotiate terms of sale, maintaining compliance with the company’s Commercial policies and processes.
* Accountable for Bid production for opportunities and ensuring they are tailored for the client, written in a clear and concise way relevant to the audience.
* Responsible for the opportunity pipeline and conversion for Automotive new business opportunities and achieving Revenue and Margin targets. As part of this, you have an amazing opportunity to travel internationally.
* Responsible for knowledge of Automotive product details, deliverables and value add for effective customer discussion, negotiation and contract production.
* Support effective onboarding of new customers through full use of CRM and finance system, sharing data and insight on prospective new business and collaborating with support services and operational delivery teams.
Skills & experience that will set you up for success in this role:
Essential skills:
* Sales management: Proven working experience as a Service or Software Business Development Manager, Sales Manager or a relevant role with comprehensive sales track record.
* Excellent problem-solving skills: Early identification of problems and ability to work with colleagues to identify and implement resolutions with customer in mind.
* Relationship Building: Proven track record of building relationships with new customers, clients & stakeholders at all levels.
* Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate with customers on contract terms ensuring company expectations are achieved.
* Excellent attention to detail: Ability to communicate and understand the detail to be able to write compelling bids.
Desirable skills:
* International Travel: Experience and comfortable travelling internationally, by yourself where necessary, to develop relationships with clients.
* Automotive Background: Experience of working in or selling to the automotive industry.
* Bilingual: Ability to speak Chinese.

Our standard working hours are 8:30 - 16:30 Monday - Thursday, 8:30 - 15:45 Fridays (talk to us about flexible working if this doesn’t quite suit you!)
