About Pearson Assessment Services: The Pearson Assessment Services (PAS) team provides assessment services to the UK and international assessment markets, supporting government education departments with project management, operational delivery, and technical solutions.
About You: This role would suit someone with a background in complex projects involving CI/CD pipeline deployments, IAC with Terraform, Python scripting, and troubleshooting, who is looking to work on fast-moving projects and contribute to design decisions.
Key Skills & Experience:
1. Solid understanding of principles of continuous integration, continuous deployment, and cloud implementation with demonstrable hands-on experience.
2. In-depth experience on Infrastructure as Code (IAC) deployment with Terraform.
3. Build and deploy applications by adopting DevOps practices such as CI/CD in runtime with various tools such as Jenkins and Bitbucket.
4. Experience in Amazon AWS Cloud Services: EC2, VPC, Data Migration Service, Lambda, RDS, S3, SNS, IAM, EventBridge, Step Functions, and managing security on AWS.
5. Experience in Database Services: Amazon Aurora MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB.
6. Good experience of Python scripting language to automate AWS Services.
7. Good knowledge of enterprise-level database solutions, such as Oracle and MS-SQL.
8. Experience with large-scale data environments.
9. Experience in creating release documentation.
10. Good to know GCP and its services: Datastream, BigQuery, CloudSQL.
11. Familiarity with JIRA – Kanban Boards and agile methodology.

Location: The role is aligned to our Manchester, Rotherham, or London offices. Our current policy requires our team to visit their base office no more than once a week, with the possibility of occasional business travel to other Pearson sites.
