Job Summary:
The Sales Representative will be responsible for driving sales and expanding the market presence of our products. This role focuses on promoting products to clients in manufacturing and industrial environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, with a proven ability to build relationships and drive revenue growth by offering solutions tailored to the needs of the factory or laboratory environments.
This is an office based role, on Mondays and Fridays, and field-based client visits on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy and Execution:
• Develop and execute sales strategies to drive growth of product offerings and increase market share.
• Focus on selling products from our strategic partners to industrial and manufacturing clients.
• Achieve sales targets through direct selling, customer relationship management, and market development.
• Plan and implement targeted sales campaigns aimed at factories and laboratories, focusing on key decision-makers in relevant industries.
Customer Engagement and Business Development:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients in the laboratory and industrial sectors.
• Conduct site visits to understand customer needs and provide tailored solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
• Proactively identify new sales opportunities within factory and laboratory environments to drive consistent sales growth.
Sales Pipeline and Order Management:
• Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to closing, ensuring timely follow-up and smooth onboarding of clients.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including Sales Admin, to generate accurate quotes and ensure the timely delivery of products and services.
• Maintain and update customer quotes, sales orders, and activities using the company’s CRM system.
• Keep the sales pipeline up-to-date and aligned with sales goals, ensuring consistent progress toward sales targets.
Market Insights and Client Relationships:
• Stay informed on industry trends, market shifts, and competitor activities, adapting sales strategies accordingly.
• Provide feedback to the Manager on emerging opportunities, customer needs, and changes in the market landscape.
• Regularly check in with clients to strengthen relationships and identify upselling or cross-selling opportunities.
Sales Performance and Reporting:
• Provide weekly updates to the Manager, outlining sales progress, pipeline status, and challenges.
• Submit monthly reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), tracking performance against set targets.
• Collaborate with marketing to develop promotional campaigns based on customer needs and industry trends.
• Ensure that accurate travel details (mileage, postcodes) are submitted regularly for expense planning.
Tender Management and Procurement Support:
• Assist in preparing and submitting tender responses, ensuring accurate and timely submissions for new business opportunities.
• Stay up to date on procurement processes and requirements for bidding on contracts, ensuring readiness for tender opportunities.
Training and Development:
• Continuously develop product knowledge.
• Stay updated on product offerings, training requirements, and industry developments to effectively represent the products.
Calendar & Diary Management:
• Proactively manage your calendar to schedule client visits, meetings, and travel efficiently.
• Ensure all appointments and site visits are well-planned and communicated in advance to optimise time in the field.
Team Collaboration and Support:
• Work closely with the Manager and internal teams to ensure high levels of client satisfaction and timely product delivery.
• Provide support to junior staff or colleagues when needed, contributing to a collaborative and positive work environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Education/Qualifications:
• Degree level education or equivalent (preferred).
Experience:
• At least 2 years of experience in sales, with a focus on laboratory or industrial products.
• Experience in sales within manufacturing or laboratory environments is highly desirable.
Key Skills:
• In-depth understanding of laboratory.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven track record in meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

Additional Requirements:
• Full UK driving licence is essential. Own car required for field-based client visits.
