Senior Clinical Foot & Ankle Fellow

Senior Clinical Foot and Ankle Fellow - to start September 2025.
The Trauma and Orthopaedic Department at UHD is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the team as a Fellow in Elective foot and ankle surgery and trauma.
This Fellowship offers a wealth of clinical experience which includes working in our Derwent Orthopaedic Centre (which now boasts a new 3rd modular theatre) and main theatres on the elective site and also participating in trauma on the Poole site.
This is a Fixed Term post starting in September 2025.
Applicants should be on the GMC Specialist Register and have at least 3 months NHS experience.

Main duties of the job
It is planned that the Senior Clinical Fellow would, after adequate training, operate independently.
The Fellowship will offer particular emphasis on training and research in foot and ankle surgery.

Person specification
Experience
* Greater than two years Orthopaedic Registrar experience, particularly in foot and ankle subspecialties
* Evidence of involvement in audit & research projects
Skills
* Principles and practice of foot and ankle surgery
* Evidence of technical competence in intermediate level surgery
* Up to date, complete logbook of experience
* Meet the requirements of the GMC’s Good Medical Practice
* Contribution to management of professional organisation
* Some experience of medical writing
Qualifications
* Basic MB BS or equivalent
* Postgraduate FRCS / MRCS or equivalent
* Commitment to continuing postgraduate education and training
