Job Description
Location: Fleet Service, Kittybrewster Depot
Duration: Permanent, Full Time 35 hours
Aberdeen City Council is currently in discussions with Trade Unions regarding a proposal to move from a standard 37-hour full-time working week to a standard 35-hour full-time working week.
Weekly rota shift pattern:
Week 1: Monday-Thursday 6am - 2pm, Friday 6am-13:30pm
Week 2: Monday-Thursday 14:00pm - 22:00pm, Friday 11:30am-19:00pm
Job Purpose:
The post holder will be responsible for inspection, maintenance, and repairs on vehicles, plant, and equipment within Aberdeen City Council Fleet workshops and depots. The candidate should have the ability to work on their own initiative and communicate effectively with the management team and customers.
Requirements
The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:
* City and Guilds Heavy vehicle service and maintenance (9302) or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Preferably hold a Category C (HGV) Licence and relevant CPC or to be obtained
The post holder will be expected to:
* Join the out of hours on-call breakdown rota.
* Work outside in all weathers.
* Occasionally work outside of normal working hours.
