Job summary Band 4 Therapy Assistant Practitioner/ Apprentice ( Middlesbrough PCN Therapy Team) 37.5 hours per week An opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Therapy Assistant Practitioner to join the Middlesbrough PCN Therapy Team whilst training to be a qualified Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist under the Apprenticeship scheme at Teesside University. This post would suit an experienced band 3 assistant looking to progress to band 4 Therapy Assistant Practitioner. The team consists of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Therapy Assistant Practitioners and Therapy Assistants. The team has gone through a period of change and is now building links with the three PCN's in the Middlesbrough locality. It is an exciting time to work for this team as we continue to improve our service to meet the needs of our population. We recently achieved a Diamond award in the South Tees Accreditation of Quality of Care (STAQC) which shows the teams commitment to high quality patient care and rehabilitation. Main duties of the job To undertake highly skilled work, support the Allied Health Professionals (AHP) in providing an effective and efficient community rehabilitation service within the framework of clinical governance. To work under supervision and independently in order to facilitate effective treatment of patients within the service. To carry out basic assessments of non-complex patients as delegated by the AHP. To accept patients delegated by a therapist and be responsible for the delivery of patient care. To use clinical judgement and freedom, within the scope of practice and be able to work independently and flexibly without direct supervision but to receive access to regular supervision from a Registered AHP.
