Description
Purpose of the Role:
The Account Manager will play a critical role in driving sales growth and maintaining strong relationships within the Social Care and Education sectors. Operating within a defined geographical territory, you will manage existing customer accounts, identify new opportunities, and negotiate commercial agreements to support the company's strategic goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Sales and Business Development:
* Achieve sales targets and order intake goals within your defined geographical territory.
* Prepare and deliver impactful presentations to prospective and existing customers.
* Prepare proposals and support tender submissions, ensuring alignment with customer needs and company standards.
* Define, negotiate, and agree on commercial terms for orders, leveraging the support of System C legal advisors during contract negotiations.
* Pursue and develop new opportunities in Councils/organisations not currently working with System C.
Account Management:
* Manage a portfolio of existing 'live' customer sites, ensuring their potential is fully realised through the adoption of System C products and services.
* Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders, such as customer and prospective customer Directors, to further the interests of the company.
* Monitor and address customer satisfaction, ensuring issues are resolved promptly or escalated where necessary.
Collaboration and Coordination:
* Work with partner companies to establish and nurture business relationships.
* Collaborate with other areas of the business to set and manage customer expectations effectively.
* Liaise with the marketing team to ensure accurate and up-to-date customer and prospect information, and support local marketing activities such as product launches, exhibitions, and customer events.
Reporting and Analysis:
* Provide regular updates to the Director of Account Management on the progress and status of accounts within the territory, including prospective orders and customer satisfaction issues.
* Monitor and report on market trends, competitor activities, and opportunities to ensure a competitive edge.
Key Responsibilities:

Skills Required:
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Strong ICT proficiency, with the ability to use tools like JIRA and Wiki effectively.
* Proven ability to manage a complex caseload, meet deadlines, and balance team workloads.
* Demonstrated success in building and maintaining meaningful relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
* Persuasive and credible in a sales context, with a strong ability to influence decision-makers.
* Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to recognise, analyse, and address issues.

Requirements:
* Willingness to travel extensively and stay overnight as required.
* Full UK driving licence.
