What the school offers its staff
Birch Copse Primary School is a very successful, vibrant school of which we are very proud. We achieved an Ofsted rating of ‘outstanding’ in all five areas, in July 2024. The school is friendly, well supported by governors and parents, and is located in a pleasant residential area on the outskirts of Reading. There are 420 pupils on roll, organised into 6 Infant and 8 Junior classes. There are 2 classes for each Year Group, and each year group pair of teachers plan together.
The school is committed to ensuring that all pupils achieve the highest standards of attainment according to their ability in all subjects of the National Curriculum. The highest standards of behaviour and concentration in the classroom are expected. We always receive positive feedback from visitors to the school.
We have an exceptionally friendly, supportive and welcoming staff culture and hope all new members of staff will embrace this. CPD and staff wellbeing are key focus areas on an ongoing basis.
