About the Role:
We are seeking a creative and resilient Art Teacher to join our Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in South Quay, Tower Hamlets. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging Art lessons tailored to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Working with small class sizes of 4-8 pupils, you will use art as a medium to support emotional regulation and promote positive behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging Art lessons tailored to students with SEMH needs.
Use creative expression to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
Implement effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a structured learning environment.
Build strong relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and self-expression.
Work closely with the wider team, including SENCOs and support staff, to develop individual learning plans.Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant Art teaching experience.
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
Experience working with challenging behaviour and SEMH pupils.
A patient, creative, and adaptable approach to teaching.
