Description UE07: £40,247.00 - £47,874.00 Per Annum. USG / Development & Alumni Planning Unit. Open Ended Contract - Permanent. Full Time - 35 Hours Per Week. The Opportunity This role will closely support the Finance Manager in the comprehensive financial management of the University of Edinburgh Development Trust and the Development and Alumni Department. The role will promote the understanding of philanthropic financial processes by building relationships with key stakeholders across the university. The role is within a small finance team so the successful candidate will gain experience in all aspects of the financial management of philanthropic fundraising and financial reporting in the charity sector. With line management responsibility for a team of 3 staff this role ensures efficiency in systems use by setting and maintaining robust procedures to enable monthly closure of the donations ledger. The role also has responsibility for the departmental gift aid and legacy tax strategy; ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation. Integral to the role is the ability to facilitate the continuous improvement of the department’s donations platform strategy, donation reporting and forecasts to all relevant stakeholders. Your skills and attributes for success: Must be at least a part qualified accountant with relevant experience of producing financial accounts. Must have an understanding of relevant accounting standards and the financial regulation of the charity sector. Should have a proven track record for developing efficient procedures and implement change. Requires experience in computer based financial & database systems.
