Job Description
We're seeking 4 Production Planners to support the delivery of efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production processes within our naval programme operations.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nInterpret customer requirements to create clear and structured task breakdowns that accurately reflect current production methods and dependencies.\n\nDevelop detailed low-level schedules and ensure smooth workflow through established planning stages (Yellow to Green), identifying and resolving blockers on Pink/Red boards.\n\nEstimate time and labour required for each trade using production process standards, parametric methods, and practical experience.\n\nIdentify materials, services, and subcontractor needs, liaising with the supply chain and reviewing supplier quotes to ensure accurate costing and full work scope coverage.\n\nMaintain and enhance standard job libraries, incorporating parts information, feedback, and performance history into planning tools and templates.\n\nSupport the implementation of performance metrics and planning improvements through continuous monitoring and feedback.\n\nFoster close collaboration with production trade leads and subcontractors to continuously refine planning norms and estimating accuracy.\n\nReport non-conforming products or services in line with internal quality and compliance processes.\n\nCoach and mentor apprentices and junior staff, sharing best practices and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.\n\nWhat We're Looking For:\n\nProven experience in production planning.\n\nSolid understanding of planning workflows and task list structures across large-scale manufacturing or engineering projects.\n\nProficiency in cost estimating, task scheduling, and materials planning.\n\nStrong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, especially when liaising across supply chain, production, and subcontractor teams.\n\nBe part of one of the UK's most prestigious Maritime organisations
