YOUR ROLE
Reporting into the Head of Operations, you will be responsible for a high-profile & fast-paced vehicle delivery and collection service via multiple locations across the UK. You will manage a dispatch and planning team to ensure agreed performance levels are achieved, whilst ensuring high standards of customer service. Provide training, mentoring, and performance evaluations for your team based in Chipping Warden.
In this position, you will actively contribute to the daily operations, with a significant focus on increasing revenue by enhancing efficiency. You will identify and implement cost-saving measures while maintaining high service quality.
Monday – Friday.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
You will play a crucial role in ensuring that all team members adhere to Health, Safety, and Environment, as well as Quality regulations, policies, and standards. You will lead a team, taking charge of all aspects of people management throughout their employment journey, fostering a positive and motivated environment where everyone feels engaged and driven to perform better.
Your responsibilities will include thoroughly analysing operational performance and compliance to guarantee exceptional service for our customers. This is a hands-on position where you will develop and execute logistics strategies to maximise resources and efficiency. You will also manage risks by creating contingency plans for potential disruptions. Route planning will be handled by the scheduling team and you will ensure that schedules are met punctually and executed in the most efficient and cost-effective way, leveraging technology for greater automation.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
1. Previous experience of operating at a management level within the logistics industry, automotive is advantageous.
2. Proven experience of managing, coaching and mentoring a team of drivers.
3. Good working knowledge of Health & Safety.
4. Analytical and organised in approach with good problem-solving skills.
5. Proven experience of budgeting and financial control.
