Job Description:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students, teachers, and school leadership to provide proactive and reactive support to students with 1;1 support needs.
Your role will involve designing and implementing individualised intervention plans and offering support to students in both individual and group settings.
The goal is to promote positive behavioural changes, improve emotional regulation, and ensure that every student has the support they need to succeed in their academic and social lives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct assessments to identify concerns and determine the root causes.
* Develop, implement, and monitor individualized behaviour intervention plans (BIPs) for students.
* Provide one-on-one and group support to students, fostering a positive, respectful, and safe learning environment.
* Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to support students’ needs and promote positive outcomes.
* Deliver professional development and interventions.
* Track and document student progress, providing feedback and suggestions for continuous improvement.
* Support students during crisis situations, ensuring de-escalation techniques are effectively employed.
* Encourage the development of self-regulation, social skills, and emotional resilience in students.
* Stay informed of best practices in support and attend relevant professional development.
