Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, motivated and independently minded leader to join our team as Matron for neonatal services. Main duties of the job The Matron will ensure that operational plans and performance are closely managed, promptly escalating issues which are unable to be resolved. The post holder will implement patient centred national and local clinical, operational strategy and plans, ensuring that systems and processes are in place to comply with relevant legislation and governance requirements. The Matron contributes to the strategic direction and policy setting for the Division, forming an essential two way communication link between the Division and staff in the Directorate. The post holder will have line manager responsibility for Clinical Manager and any B7 specialist nurses in the service. The post holder will work effectively and efficiently with fellow Matrons, Senior Nurses and General Managers to deliver quality services for patients. There is a specific focus on visible, accessible and strong clinical leadership; service quality and development; and the patient's experience of safe, compassionate, timely and effective care.
