About the role
As one of our two new Senior Financial Accountants, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering excellent financial reporting, treasury management, taxation services, driving improvements in our financial control environment and identifying and reporting on risks and opportunities. Reporting to the Council’s Chief Accountant, you will provide essential leadership and technical guidance to the team of qualified and part qualified accountants.
As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.
About you
A CCAB or CIMA qualified accountant, you’ll have substantial experience of finance in a large organisation. You will have successfully delivered statutory financial accounts and worked with external auditors. You will have a proven track record of driving service change and leading teams. You will have excellent and persuasive verbal and written communication skills, a desire to learn and to excel in some of the most technical areas of accounting in a large complex organisation.
