The Role:
As Assistant Site Manager, you’ll be responsible for working with a Site Manager to oversee planning and organising construction site activities with exposure to an exciting portfolio of projects across the company’s various sectors, leading teams of employed staff and sub-contract labour and ensuring the timely and quality delivery of each of your projects.
Responsibilities:
* Assisting with the coordination of all site-based construction activity.
* Helping to enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for workers.
* Supervising and directing the construction team to ensure that the project is completed on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
* Coordinating with engineers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that the construction work meets the project specifications.
* Helping to prepare and maintain project documentation, including progress reports, construction schedules, and budget reports.
* Alongside Senior Management and Commercial Management, monitoring and controlling project costs, including labour, materials, and equipment expenses.
* Communicate regularly with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to keep them informed about project progress and any issues that arise.
* Ensuring that the site is clean and organized, and that all equipment and tools are properly maintained.
* Conducting inspections to ensure that work is being done according to plans and specifications.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Either formally qualified or working towards a Degree, NVQ or HNC in Construction Management and/or a suitable trade background (both is a bonus but one or the other essential).
* Previous experience working as part of a site leadership team for a main contractor is highly beneficial, ideally on schemes ranging between £5m and £20m in value, but all relevant backgrounds will be considered.
