About the Role
Hyperion Partners are delighted to represent our client, a leading luxury residential operator in London, in their search for a Maintenance Shift Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and proactive engineer to join a high-end residential development, ensuring all building systems and facilities are maintained to the highest standards.
As part of the on-site engineering team, the Maintenance Shift Engineer will be responsible for the efficient operation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, as well as responding to reactive maintenance requests to support a seamless living experience for residents.
Responsibilities
As Maintenance Shift Engineer, you will:
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across all MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems.
* Diagnose and resolve faults swiftly, minimising disruption to residents and operations.
* Ensure all work complies with health & safety regulations and building standards.
* Conduct regular inspections of plant rooms, common areas, and resident facilities, identifying and addressing potential maintenance issues.
* Respond promptly to urgent repair requests, including out-of-hours call-outs as required.
* Work closely with external contractors, assisting in overseeing specialist maintenance works.
* Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including logs of inspections, repairs, and compliance checks.
* Assist with sustainability initiatives, contributing to energy efficiency and environmental performance improvements.
* Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach, ensuring residents receive a high standard of service.
Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
* Previous experience in a maintenance engineering role within a luxury residential, hospitality, or commercial building environment.
* A recognised qualification in electrical, mechanical, or building services engineering (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent).
* Strong working knowledge of HVAC, BMS, electrical systems, and plumbing.
* Understanding of health & safety regulations, including fire safety and legionella compliance.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing first-class customer service.
