ROLE PROFILE The WHY The Assistant Merchandiser will support the Merchandising team in ensuring stock levels meet business needs, supporting the team in managing the supply chain process from suppliers to warehouse and the management of stock through accurate purchasing and planning. This role will help maintain smooth stock flows, monitor performance against targets, and contribute to the company’s overall commercial goals; providing strong analytics ,improving stock efficiency and doing so with excellent communication and teamwork. ROLE ACCOUNTABILITY The WHAT Responsible for: Inbound Stock and Purchase Order Management: Place E-commerce and Wholesale purchase orders systematically. Monitoring the intake of stock to ensure it is on schedule, communicating timelines efficiently with the internal and external wholesale teams if product isn’t on time to determine the best course of action and ensuring the correct processing of wholesale orders from the warehouse to the customer. Supplier Communication: Liaising with inbound freight forwarders, suppliers and internal teams to ensure appropriate action is taken with inbound stock when necessary. Communicating with the warehouse team to ensure stock is booked in correctly and in a timely manner. Performance Analysis and Reporting: Supporting in the creation of weekly, monthly and seasonal performance reports from a product lens. Working with the Finance team to ensure all inbound information is up to date for cash flow purposes. Report management: Frequently updating internal reports including the WSSI’s, Line Cards, and Critical Path to both accurately reflect the status of stock in line with the product launch calendar and the health of the overall stock position in the business. Stock Clearance: Support in managing the stock clearance process through various channels, analysing the age profile and seasonality of stock to optimise margins and the live product assortment. Retail Allocation: Monitor and maintain retail store stock reports, liaise with store staff to ensure we have the right allocation of stock to store. Ensure slow moving retail lines are removed and replaced accordingly. General Support: Supporting across various other tasks for the Merchandising function as necessary. Accountable For Accuracy within Merch processes and systems; ensuring data is maintained and generation of reporting. Identify trends, gaps or potential issues in stock levels; communicating relevant information and escalating where there is a possible impact for stock or sales. Maintaining accurate records. Essential Skills & Experience Has a keen analytical mind and proficient in using Microsoft Excel Has great communication skills both verbal and written Ability to work effectively within a team. Strong organisational & time management skills. Preferred Skills & Experience Experience within a Merchandising role, preferably within the fashion industry.
