About the Role…
We are seeking a hands-on IT Support Analyst to join our IT team and assist with the support of our staff’s IT requirements, as well as our internal IT and collaboration systems.
We are a growing UK-based multi-site leading-edge technology company, with largely cloud-based IT systems supporting three UK offices as well as hybrid and permanent remote-working staff.
As a Company who are heavy users of SaaS based products, this role will provide the opportunity to build on existing skills in Google Workspace and all of its constituent products, Atlassian, Slack, Zoom and other services. The role will also require management of our on-premise infrastructure which comprises Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco network switches. Our end-users are majority Mac based, with a small contingent of Windows users. This role is ideal for someone who is looking to grow their skillset in these fields and their career in IT.
This role reports to the Senior IT Engineer(s) and is based in our Birmingham office.
As an IT Support Analyst, you will:
Work with the other members of the IT team to:
* Support and maintain the various platforms and infrastructure used by the company, including but not limited to: Google Workspace, Okta, Slack, Zoom, macOS and Windows desktops, Palo Alto and Cisco networking equipment.
* Provide 1st line support by responding to calls or tickets received at the IT Helpdesk, providing in-person or remote support to users in a friendly and professional manner.
* Document processes and procedures.
* Platform monitoring and being an active part of continuous improvements.
* Assist with the evaluation, design and implementation of new technologies
* Improve, ensure and maintain the security of networks, data and services
* Liaise with suppliers for procurement of hardware and software.
* On occasion, perform hardware installation and maintenance operations at Friend MTS premises.
* Demonstrate drive and enthusiasm, innovating and working with minimal direction, meeting requirements, and delivering to a high standard.
You will be set up for success as an IT Support Analyst, if you have:
* 2 years experience in technical support
* In-office and remote desktop support including both macOS and Windows.
* Networking experience - routing, switching, subnetting, DNS, DHCP
* Google Workspace and/or Microsoft 365 experience
Nice to haves:
* Virtualisation and containerisation e.g. Docker, KVM
* Cloud computing experience e.g. Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organisational skills, with the ability to communicate with a variety of roles and levels within the business
* Excellent interpersonal skills to build and sustain key relationships across a wide and varied group of management and staff.
* Ability to manage your own time and independently prioritise and manage competing work assignments in a time-sensitive environment.
* Strong team player, exhibiting initiative, drive, creativity, maturity and professionalism.
* Keen analytical skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Passionate and keen with an ability to quickly learn new technologies.
