Health & Safety Consultant – North Thames Region

We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Consultant to join a rapidly expanding national Health & Safety Consultancy. Due to continued growth, this role will involve delivering high-quality HSE support across various house building sites in the North Thames region, including areas such as St Albans, Biggleswade, Hitchin, Bishops Stortford, and more.
You will report directly to the Construction Services Director and will be home-based with frequent site visits. Your contribution will be essential in driving health and safety culture across key construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct site inspections and provide hands-on HSE support
Prepare thorough, professional health and safety reports
Offer technical advice to site management teams
Carry out targeted monthly safety checks to ensure compliance
Attend and contribute to regular HSE meetings
Investigate incidents and accidents, proposing corrective measures
Conduct external PC/client inspections
Deliver in-house health and safety training for site operatives and management teams
The successful Health and Safety Advisor will:
Experience working in UK construction, particularly house building
NEBOSH General/Construction Certificate
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role (preferred)
Strong IT skills
A UK driving license and willingness to travel, including occasional overnight staysIn return the successful individual will receive an attractive compensation package consisting:
Competitive salary: £45,000 - £50,000
Car allowance of £4,800 or a company car after probation
31 days of annual leave, including bank holidays
