Job Description
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Data Strategy, Governance & Analytics reporting to the VP of Business Transformation. The Head of Data Strategy, Governance, and Analytics at John Crane will be responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive data strategy aligned with business objectives. The role encompasses defining the vision for data and analytics, establishing governance models, and ensuring a seamless integration of master data management (MDM) with business operations to drive productivity and efficiency. By engaging stakeholders and aligning organisational priorities with the Data & Analytics (D&A) strategy, this leader will foster a data-driven culture that enhances business performance. They will also define the necessary operating models for both MDM and analytics, ensuring robust controls, communication, and education throughout the organisation. Key responsibilities include setting ambitious data-driven goals, inspiring teams to achieve them, securing funding for analytics initiatives, and supporting cultural change toward data ownership and quality across the organization.
This role is based from our headquarters within Slough working Monday to Friday normal office hours. (Hybrid working)
Duties & Responsibilities (not limited to)
Data & Analytics Strategy:
* Understands business goals and priorities and can articulate the role that Data & Analytics plays in their delivery.
* Engages stakeholders and agrees priorities that need to be focused on.
* Articulates and aligns organisation to D&A Strategy.
Governance
* Defines operating model for Master Data Management and Analytics.
* Puts in place team and communicates/educates the organisation.
* Puts in place and monitors required controls to embed governance.
Master Data Management
* Defines specific goals and targets which link MDM to business performance (Process performance and productivity).
* Leads and inspires team to exceed targets.
* Supports and provides sponsorship for cultural change in quality, ownership of data.
Analytics
* Sets vision for a data-driven organisation - inspires team, and empowers them to deliver.
* Works closely with Business Services functions to define analytics roadmap (business and technology) and secures funding to deliver on it.
* Defines specific goals and targets which link MDM to business performance (Process performance and productivity).
Qualifications
* Previous experience as a Data & Analytics leader.
* Master Data management experience.
* Experience of defining strategy and turning into action.
* Previous experience in a Manufacturing B2B or B2C setting.
