Job Description
As Shift Operations Manager you will oversee the day to day management responsibility for the Warehouse operation & Site facilities, along with the requirement to deputize for the Operations Manager on occasions. You will maximize site operational performance by providing a strong ethos of leadership and colleague engagement, having complete understanding of the operation, and closely managing customer requirements and ensuring that a variety of challenging KPIs are consistently achieved.
Shift Pattern: 06:00-14:00, 14:00-22:00 Rotating
What will you be doing:
1. Assume responsibility for ensuring that Health & Safety is ‘No1 on the agenda’ aligned with the overall site and business goals and guidelines.
2. Responsible for all warehouse operational activities on site.
3. Ensure all KPI’s are achieved to consistently meet the customer’s expectations.
4. Develop and lead a culture of continuous improvement with the development of new and innovative ways of working in order to enhance operational performance and people development
5. Manage and develop the entire operational team, identifying key team members for the future and ensuring they are able to fuel the Company’s growth and succession plans.
6. Recruit, train and retain a team of staff that are committed to quality in line with the customer’s expectations.
7. Ensure a favourable employee relations environment exists and that all personnel issues are dealt within a legal and timely manner.
8. Closely manage financial targets to ensure the attainment of improved financial performance through effective cost management.
9. Engage effectively with the customer in a full Partnership model approach.
10. Managing and maintaining site facilities and visiting contractors
11. Timely recruiting and selecting agency and permanent operatives
12. Managing the process for ensuring compliance on key internal and external audits
Qualifications
13. A demonstrable track record in managing high volume, high service driven warehouse operations.
14. Ability to think and work both strategically and operationally.
15. A successful builder and leader of large and diverse teams.
16. A positive can do outlook with the determination and tenacity to succeed.
17. Experience of CIP, ideally including formal programs such as Kaizen, Six Sigma and Lean would be advantageous
18. Excellent communication skills, ability to converse at all levels.
19. Previous knowledge and experience or a retail type environment would be an advantage.
20. A highly confident and proactive individual able to represent the Company and customer.
