Job summary
Beckett Place is a 10 bedded female, step-down relationally secure unit for woman with sever mental illness and complex needs. It is situated on the Tameside Hospital site in Ashton Under Lyne.
The Unit is for females from 18-65 years.
Our overall aim to provide intensive rehabilitation based on a gender sensitive approach to care. The unit aims to enhance life skills and community functioning, support them to effectively manage risk behaviours, reduce relapses and maximize their independence.
Main duties of the job
Have named nurse responsibilities for patients.
Undertake comprehensive, patient-focused, nursing assessment and co-produce care plans in consultation with the service user and their families and carer's
Undertake comprehensive risk assessment and formulate risk management plans with Service Users, their families and carer's,
Assist the Unit Manager in developing a service that will ensure that the needs of patients are met with regard to their age, spiritual, cultural, ethnic and sexual orientation
To assist the Unit Manager with the on-going development of the unit
In consultation with the multi-disciplinary team, ensure high standards of individual care for patients and that they are fully consulted and involved in every aspect of their care
To provide management and clinical supervision to members of staff.
To conduct annual appraisals/IPDRs for staff members
To liaise effectively with all members of the multi-disciplinary team and both statutory and non-statutory organisations involved with client care
To assist the Unit Manager in ensuring high quality of evidence-based practice is carried out by all staff within the unit
