Upholsterer - Bespoke Furniture Projects**
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Upholsterer to join our client to work on their bespoke furniture projects.
Responsibilities:
Work on custom upholstery projects, including chairs, sofas, ottomans, and other bespoke furniture items from concept to completion
Interpret and work from detailed drawings and specifications to create intricate designs and patterns
Utilize various hand-held power tools, including stitchers, buttonholers, and rotary cutters, to complete upholstery tasks efficiently and accurately
Select and work with a variety of fabrics, leathers, and other materials to achieve the desired look and feel
Collaborate with our design team to ensure that projects meet client expectations and deadlines
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in accordance with company policies and health and safety regulations
Participate in quality control checks to ensure high-quality finishes and attention to detail
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of experience as an upholsterer, preferably with experience working on bespoke or custom upholstery projects
Strong understanding of upholstery techniques, including pattern making, cutting, sewing, and finishing
Proficiency in using hand-held power tools, such as stitchers, buttonholers, and rotary cutters
Ability to work from detailed drawings and specifications to create intricate designs and patterns
Excellent attention to detail and quality control skills
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Physical stamina to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs)
Availability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing deadlines and priorities
Desirable Skills:
Experience working with a variety of fabrics, leathers, and other materials
Knowledge of traditional upholstery techniques and methods
Understanding of design principles and color theory
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
