Do you want to make a real difference to the lives of people who have served in the armed forces and their families? We are looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills, who can work confidently and proactively both independently and as part of a team to work as a Welfare Officer who will be based at the Victoria Hospital in Fife.
ABOUT US
DMWS is an international charity that has been providing medical welfare support to the Armed Forces Community for over 80 years. We support all members of the Armed Forces Community across the services, including serving personnel, reservists, veterans, and their family members/carers. This includes the Merchant Navy.
Healthcare professionals can achieve significant improvements in physical and mental health issues, but often there can be other challenges that someone in the Armed Forces Community faces that can inhibit their recovery. Mental health concerns, drivers behind substance abuse, social isolation, inappropriate housing, homelessness, or financial worries can affect someone’s health. DMWS tackles these non-clinical issues that can negatively impact on recovery and overall wellbeing.
