We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced social worker to join our ambitious, innovative, and supportive Hospital in-reach Adult Social Care Pathway.
It is highly desirable for the successful candidate to be at least 2 years post qualified and have either an Approved Mental Health Professional, Best Interest Assessor or Practice Educator qualification or the willingness to work towards obtaining one of these.
You will be advocating and working as part of a multi -disciplinary team with adults with complex mental health needs and their carers. Providing active involvement in the assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of service user care, working collaboratively and effectively using evidence-based interventions to develop support and services appropriate to people's individual needs utilising strength-based approaches.
The remit of the service is to support the citizens of Staffordshire, based largely at St Georges Hospital in-patient setting, predominantly with adults over the age of 65, as well as adults 18 years and over with mental health and physical health needs.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will need to be a registered social worker and will be expected to demonstrate a sound working knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act and other legal and statutory frameworks. The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people/vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment.
As a Trust, we offer informal support and advice as required, monitored caseload numbers, monthly formal supervisions and membership to the Social Work Learning Academy, which supports ongoing professional development opportunities, learning and career development. You will have direct support from the Practice Lead and colleagues as well providing peer support to your team.
You will need to have a full driving licence and access to a car. This is both an interesting and challenging post for someone who has a commitment to improving outcomes for the citizens of Staffordshire.

Social Work Learning Academy (SWLA)
On appointment, the post holder will be auto-enrolled in the SWLA and aligned to the appropriate British Association of Social Work Professional Capabilities Framework. The relevant SWLA stage ( stage 1 (ASYE), 2 (Social Worker) or 3 (Advanced Social Worker) will also be agreed taking all prior Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and relevant experience into consideration. The post holder will be required to take responsibility for their own Continuous Professional Development.

Essential
20. Professional Social Work qualification, DipSW, CQSW, CSS, BA, MA or Foreign qualification where certified by the Professional Social Work regulatory body
21. Ensuring current registration with the Professional Social Work regulatory body at all times.
22. To hold/to undertake and achieve the status of Approved Mental Health Professional and/or Best Interest Assessor as per the SWLA Career Pathway
23. To undertake and achieve the status of Work Based Supervisor and Practice Educator as per the SWLA Career Pathway
24. Good keyboard / IT skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email and PowerPoint
25. An ongoing commitment to personal and professional development.
26. A clear understanding of and commitment to equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice
