About the role In the role of Head of Events you will lead, develop, and execute a comprehensive events strategy designed to enhance brand awareness, build our reputation, and foster engagement with both internal and external audiences. In this role, you will plan and deliver impactful events that serve as a strategic platform, supporting our global business and strategic objectives. You will collaborate closely with the Internal and External Communications teams to ensure that all event content is engaging, cohesive, and aligned with our integrated communication efforts. Key responsibilities In this role, you will devise, manage, and implement an events strategy to increase brand awareness, promote our reputation, and further engagement and understanding with internal and external audiences. You will deliver high-impact events, demonstrating the ability to be hands-on to ensure their success, while also thinking strategically as you collaborate with communicators to maximise the impact of events for Cambridge. Innovation and technology will be integral to your planning to maximize impact and enhance reputation. You will manage and oversee training to upskill colleagues as required and ensure clear objectives and metrics for measuring impact and effectiveness are in place. Additionally, you will develop a framework for selecting priority events and formats—whether in-person, hybrid, or online—aligned with our organisation's priorities. You'll provide advice and guidance to senior colleagues across the organization about the events strategy and the value of events as a communication tool. Finally, you will manage budgets and resources to implement events effectively, collaborating closely with Internal and External Communications teams to ensure content is engaging and aligned with our integrated communication efforts. About you We are looking for a strategic thinker, who can bring together event planning and governance. You should be creative and innovative, capable of finding solutions to new challenges and encouraging others to apply innovative approaches and explore new opportunities. You must have excellent project management and organisational skills, able to multitask and prioritise competing projects, with a focus on timely, cost-effective delivery. Essential skills and experience include: Leadership in Event Delivery: Extensive experience in leading and managing impactful events in the UK. Strategic Event Planning: Demonstrated ability to deliver various types of high-profile corporate events as part of an integrated communications plan. Global and Local Event Execution: Proven experience in developing and leading the execution of aligned global and local events. Event Management Expertise: Deep knowledge of best practices, trends, and operational excellence to enhance customer experiences. Project and Budget Management: Strong track record in project management, budget control, and cost efficiency. Professional Qualification: Preferably holds a professional marketing/communications qualification (CIM or equivalent). Social Media Proficiency: Skilled in leveraging social media platforms on behalf of the organization. Event Technology: Proficient in using advanced event technology with confidence and expertise.
