Senior / BID Manager required to join a tier 1 contractor.
Reports to: Head of Pre-Construction
Location: Bristol, hybrid working + travel across UK sites
Full time: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £65,000 to £75,000 per annum (DOE) + company bonus scheme + car allowance
The Role:
The Senior Bid Manager will be responsible for managing a bid team with the skills to prepare and submit a winning bid, whilst taking ownership of the end-to-end bid process for tenders in grid scale solar PV, battery energy storage and ICP construction projects.
The Bid Manager will oversee opportunities from customer needs to contract handover, aligning resources and leading presentations. You will lead the integrated bid team to deliver commercial and technical proposals for major projects, addressing risk, sustainability, and ethical considerations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leading and managing the end-to-end bid process, ensuring timely, compliant, and commercially sound submissions.
2. Collaborating with the Business Development lead to develop clear win strategies and compelling themes for each bid.
3. Managing bid teams, coordinating inputs from key stakeholders across functions (including legal, commercial, finance, and project delivery).
4. Resolving complex technical, strategic, and business issues, working closely with legal and commercial teams to review bid aspects.
5. Tracking and managing risks, ensuring all internal governance and KPIs are met.
6. Overseeing client presentations, bid budgets, and continuous improvement through post-bid reviews.
7. Supporting the development of Bid Managers, contributing to the organisation’s bid strategy, and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.

11. A qualification (HND/HNC) in quantity surveying/ building surveying/ construction management/ engineering would be highly desirable.
