PRS Jobs are currently recruiting a Head Chef to join our prestigious client based in a college. You will be responsible for the kitchen operation, cost efficiency, and production of innovative quality food/menus in line with agreed budgets to improve sales.
This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday term time only, with an additional 2 weeks work. Total working weeks 39 for the year. Shifts between 07:00 and 15:30. Free meals on duty and parking on-site.

Responsibilities:
1. Train and lead culinary and kitchen employees to use standard methodology food production techniques and ensure quality in the final presentation of food.
2. Provide ongoing mentoring on food production and food quality and training with respect to safety awareness.
3. Reward and recognize employees.
4. Maintain all staff records including training records, shift opening/closing checklists, and performance data.
5. Identify the training needs of staff and carry out the relevant training in new procedures, methods of working, or use of new equipment and cleaning products.
6. Implement any new company policy decisions and train staff accordingly.
7. Develop innovative solutions in the most financially efficient way possible.
8. Develop and maintain effective client and customer rapport for mutually beneficial business relationships.
9. Empower the team to deliver excellence in customer service.
10. Investigate concerns and respond to needs relating to the catering service and take corrective action.
11. Ensure full compliance with Operational Excellence fundamentals: managing waste, standard menus, recipes, and ingredients through handling customer-driven menus and labour standards.
12. Understand the end-to-end supply chain and procurement process and systems, ensuring only authorized suppliers are used.
Minimum Requirements:
1. NVQ Levels 1 & 2 in culinary skills.
2. Clean Enhanced DBS.
3. Experience in a similar educational environment.
4. Can-do attitude with a willingness to learn.
5. Proactive in attitude.

Schedule: Monday to Friday - 7am - 3:30pm - 40 hours a week
Salary: £28,000 – £34,000 yearly
