Position Description
Position Summary
The Digital Technician Assistant, under the guidance of the Office of Technology Support Services, performs a variety of office duties that include:
* Troubleshooting and supporting computer issues (hardware and software) for students and staff.
* Supporting students and staff in person, via email, and on the phone.
* Troubleshooting and repairing classroom and lab PC and Mac equipment.
* Completing required documentation.
* Special projects as assigned.
Major Preferred Experience Required
Basic computer experience required. Basic knowledge of multiple operating systems and configuration is preferred. Some hardware knowledge is required.

* Ability to work on multiple projects at one time.
* Ability to easily navigate spreadsheets and databases.

* Basic PC hardware and software knowledge.
* Willingness to learn new technologies and troubleshooting practices, and share new knowledge with others.
Dress Code Requirements
All students are expected to have a neat and clean appearance. No cutoffs or torn pants/shirts are permitted.
Special Working Conditions
Be able to lift 25 pounds.
Primary Duties
* Answer and assist help line phone calls in a pleasant manner.
* Submit and work on RT tickets in Tech Support queue and Production queue.
* Check available equipment in and out from the loaner pool.
* Troubleshoot LMS, video conferencing software and other learning applications used in the classroom.
* Notify patrons of completed work orders.
* Assist with tasks related to inventory.
* Effectively communicate with clients (employees, students and guests).
* Complete research as requested to support and extend department’s knowledge base.
* Re-image laptops.
* Troubleshoot, support and resolve hardware and software on PCs and Macs (student, staff, lab, classroom) under the guidance of a Technology Support or Tier II Technician.
* Assist with classroom troubleshooting and/or replace AV equipment as needed.
* Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
