Job overview
As Programmes Senior Manager, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic nursing and midwifery team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff. The post holder will support the Head of Nursing & Midwifery and their Team, to ensure successful implementation of the nursing and midwifery portfolio of work at regional and sub-regional level. There is an expectation to be in Victoria House, Fulbourn, 40% of the time and to travel across the region as part of this role.
Main duties of the job
The Programme’s Senior Manager will have specific responsibility for:
* Programme and project management
* Providing comprehensive project management duties overseeing the delivery of the work streams identified in the Long Term Workforce Plan
* Communication and stakeholder engagement
* Working with key partners internal and external to NHS England to ensure the successful implementation of the Team’s delivery plan of Workforce, Training and Education
* Nursing & Midwifery managerial expertise
* Liaising closely with the National Nursing and Midwifery Programme
* Ensuring attention to detail in all aspects of their work

Qualifications
* Programme/Project Management experience at a strategic/system level
* Comprehensive knowledge of project principles, techniques and tools, such as Prince 2 Foundation and Microsoft Project
* Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
Knowledge
* Knowledge, understanding and application of current NHS policies across healthcare systems and experience of implementation in relevant areas
* Knowledge and experience of working on national nursing & midwifery policy issues
Skills
* Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders from various organizations (health, social care, voluntary sector, patient groups) and from a range of professional backgrounds
