Job Purpose
TechnipFMC's UK rigid pipeline engineering team is seeking a Senior Riser Engineer to join our team and help us deliver innovative deepwater subsea riser solutions. As a member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work on challenging projects for the EMIAA region (Europe, the Middle East, India, Africa, and APAC). Our team is known for our ability to solve the most complex subsea engineering problems and for being at the forefront of emerging analysis technologies. We contribute effectively at all stages of the project cycle, from early concept engineering to detailed design. As a Senior Riser Engineer, you'll play a key role in providing input and expertise in the design of subsea riser systems at all phases. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with our world-class engineers, both locally and from around the globe. You will also have the opportunity to develop competency relating to the in-place design of subsea pipelines.

Job Description
As a Senior Riser Engineer, you will perform deepwater riser design activities at pre-FEED, FEED, detailed design, and operating phases. You will act as the focal point for riser design scopes, including supervising team members assigned to the project and reviewing third-party engineering. You will also proactively seek design or methodology improvements to enhance safety, schedule, and cost, and contribute to the development of junior engineers.
Main Accountabilities:
1. Ownership of riser design scopes - ensuring deliverables are of high quality and to schedule.
2. When required, act as a lead for rigid pipeline team scopes of work within a project.
3. Support the technical development of the engineers within the rigid pipeline pipeline team.
4. Management of work scopes undertaken by external consultants on behalf of the rigid pipeline team.
Qualifications:
• High-quality honours degree in engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Naval or Aeronautical)
Typical Background and Experience Required
5. Strong technical understanding and experience focused on the design of steel catenary risers.
6. Proficiency in relevant analysis tools including Abaqus, Orcaflex, and Shear7.
7. Good understanding of relevant design codes and recommended practices.
8. Ability to manage change.
9. Drive for innovation and the ability to challenge established working methods to develop, support, and implement new and improved solutions to problems.
10. Full command of the English Language.
Additional Information:
Based in the TFMC Aberdeen office (Westhill). May be required to travel to other offices, sites, offshore, and client locations when required.
