Description
We are seeking a commercially driven CFO to lead the financial strategy and operations across DMC Healthcare, DMC Primary Care, and DMC Imaging. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CFO will be instrumental in driving financial performance, optimising operational efficiencies, and embedding a commercial mindset across the organisation.
Beyond financial management, this role will be pivotal in shaping a culture of commercial excellence - ensuring financial acumen, cost control, and revenue generation are embedded into all levels of the organisation. Driving the use of technology, automation, and AI will be a core aspect of improving internal processes, increasing productivity, and enhancing financial and operational efficiency.
The CFO will work closely with the Board and executive team to explore growth opportunities, new revenue streams, and strategic initiatives, ensuring the company remains competitive, profitable, and future-focused.
The CFO will lead and oversee the following functions across the Group:
* Finance - Financial planning, management, reporting, and performance optimisation.
* Procurement - Cost management, supplier relations, and operational efficiency.
* HR - Workforce financial planning, payroll oversight, and organisational development.
* Data & Technology - Leveraging AI, automation, and digital tools for financial and operational efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy and Planning:
* Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
* Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team based on financial analysis and projections.
* Identify new revenue opportunities, optimising profitability across all service lines.
* Establish and embed a strong financial performance culture, ensuring commercial thinking is embedded across all departments.
* Oversee long-term budgetary planning, forecasting, and cost management in alignment with the company's expansion and investment decisions.
Financial Management and Reporting:
* Lead and manage all financial operations, ensuring accurate accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
* Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, reports, and analysis for the executive team, board of directors, and external stakeholders.
* Monitor and manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to optimise financial performance.
* Implement cost-efficiency measures to maximise return on investment and streamline expenditures.
Healthcare Sector Expertise:
* Apply deep knowledge of the healthcare industry, including NHS operations, funding mechanisms and reimbursement models, to inform financial decisions and strategies.
* Navigate the complexities of healthcare regulations, reimbursement models, and financial challenges within the sector.
* Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the healthcare industry, including NHS representatives, insurers, and regulatory bodies.
* Ensure DMC remains competitive in securing healthcare contracts.
Corporate Structure and Compliance:
* Manage the financial aspects of a complex corporate structure, including subsidiaries, joint ventures, and partnerships.
* Ensure compliance with all financial, legal, and regulatory requirements, including those specific to the healthcare sector.
* Lead risk management efforts, identifying and mitigating financial risks across the organisation.
Driving Efficiencies Through Technology & AI
* Lead digital transformation initiatives, ensuring finance and operational teams leverage AI, automation, and technology for increased efficiency and accuracy.
* Identify opportunities for process automation, reducing manual inefficiencies and enhancing productivity.
* Collaborate with IT and data teams to ensure real-time financial insights and decision-making tools are effectively implemented.
Leadership and Team Development:
* Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
* Oversee the HR, procurement, IT and data teams, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and delivering excellence in these areas.
* Collaborate with other members of the executive team to drive cross-functional initiatives and achieve organisational goals.
* Represent the departments you oversee at board meetings, providing insights and recommendations on financial performance and strategy.
Qualifications
* Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.) is essential.
* Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
* A minimum of 5 years of experience in senior financial leadership roles, with a strong preference for experience in the healthcare sector.
* Proven experience working with complex corporate structures and in-depth knowledge of NHS operations and financial management.
* Expertise in financial forensic investigations and a strong understanding of related legal and regulatory frameworks.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and implement financial strategies that drive organisational success.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
