The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for managing effective partnership with the Retailer Network to drive mutually profitable sales and deliver an excellent customer experience. This role requires close collaboration with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operation of sales and supply. The role will also have operational responsibility for the work of the team of Sales Support Specialists.
Key Objectives & Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the rapid growth of the Network, ensuring that new Retailers are onboarded effectively, monitoring progress of systems access, training, logistics, sales process etc
* Build and maintain excellent working relationships with Retailer Partners at an individual Retailer level. A totally collaborative approach is required as the brand grows in the UK, so building trust and a spirit of working towards a common goal is essential.
* Monitor and drive Retailer sales performance and continuously identify opportunities for Retailers and BYD to make improvements to grow. Spread best practise amongst the network through individual and group meetings and communications.
* Ensure that BYD are delivering an excellent level of Customer Experience. Identify areas of improvement and drive change within BYD UK or the network.
* Ensure that relevant product, marketing, training and sales programmes information is shared effectively and understand by relevant members of the Retailer team.
* Take responsibility for resolving any issues experienced by Retailers and customers, either directly or by ensuring that the appropriate members of the team are dealing with the issue effectively. Direct involvement in any issues will allow the causes to be identified and to suggest and implement the required changes to process or systems.
* Manage the wholesale ordering of new vehicles by Retailers to ensure that the volume and mix of stock is sufficient to achieve the required sales volume, but also ensuring that rapid stock turn is achieved.
* Oversee Retailer Marketing activity and facilitate collaboration with the central marketing team to ensure activity is consistent and effective. Analysis activity levels against sales rate and suggest and encourage increased activity focused on opportunity channels or models when required.
* Monitor the level of incoming enquiries and ensure excellent lead management processes are in operation at all Retailers. Analyse conversion KPIs to identify potential issues in the sales process, while also highlighting lower than expected enquiry levels to the central marketing team and initiate actions to improve.
Required skills, qualifications and experience
* Proven experience and track record of success in the Automotive or other retail industry.
* Working initially as part of a small team to launch a new and unique brand in the UK, the ideal candidate will be highly adaptable, open to new ideas and ways of working, and able to take responsibility for delivering solutions to opportunities identified.
* Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines, and possess decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
* Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to establish productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Strong team collaboration and leadership abilities, with the capacity to drive teams towards common goals and effectively coordinate and communicate in cross-functional collaborations.
* Able to travel within region of responsibility on a daily basis. Constant presence onsite with Retailers is essential.
* Open to travel internationally as required to attend business meetings, training and launch events.
* Flexibility in working hours will be required as weekend or evening work will be required at times to support retailer activity.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software, with the ability to conduct data analysis and report writing.
