More Detail about the role: Our team is made up of an Admin Services Manager, an Admin Line Manager, a Team Leader and there are 21 members of our friendly dedicated admin staff. We have a team of Ward Consultants, Doctors as well as Clinical Nurse Managers and Nursing staff to look after. The Acute Medical Unit deals with approximately 22,500 admissions per year and is an exciting and stimulating place to work. You will deal with referrals from the Emergency Department and also from GPs, admitting patients onto the ward and dealing with their subsequent pathway through the hospital, updating and recording data from their admission. You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a pleasant telephone manner. It is essential that you have the ability to deal with patients and relatives calmly, sensitively and efficiently both on the telephone and in person. You will need to have the ability to use your own initiative, prioritising your workload to meet the changing needs of the department.
