Psychological Therapist – CBT/MBT/CAT/EMDR/IPT
Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Psychological Therapist, trained in either Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), or Mentalisation Based Therapy (MBT), for our step 4 psychological therapy service Therapy For You +.
Led by the successful Therapy For You (NHS Talking Therapies) team, the team is based in SE Essex to provide high-quality, evidence-based psychological interventions, often working with people who have long-standing or complex difficulties.
Main Duties of the Job
You will have a core profession, registration, and/or accreditation aligned to a professional body such as the BPS or BABCP. You will be working alongside other qualified Psychotherapists to deliver formulation-based individual and group interventions. Teams across EPUT greatly value psychological services and are committed to embracing a whole system approach.
We are particularly keen to hear from applicants with significant experience working in primary care and/or secondary care, who have a commitment to working in the local region, from those with diverse backgrounds and from people who bring lived experience relevant to mental health work.
Applicants should have a passion for developing their clinical and research skills and be keen to work flexibly. Job Responsibilities
The post holder will provide evidence-based psychological interventions to clients who have a range of longstanding and complex difficulties. The post holder will work with people from different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Minimum postgraduate training in clinical/counselling psychology or a psychological therapy model affording accreditation with a recognised therapy body.
* Registration/Accreditation with the HCPC, UKCP, BACP, or BABCP.
Experience
* Demonstrable experience of working in mental health services.
* Therapists will predominantly use Cognitive and/or Behavioural Therapy in line with the available evidence base as their main, or one of their main therapeutic models.
* Experience with routine outcome monitoring.
* Experience of teaching and liaising with other professional groups.
Skills
* Highly developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical, and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers, and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.
* Has received training (either formal or through experience) and carried out risk assessments within the scope of practice.
* Computer/IT literate.
* Completed clinical audits within a service.
