Locum Consultant in Neonatal Transport Locum Basic Salary £105,504 – £139,882 per annum (based on 10 PAs) Applications are invited for a locum consultant neonatal post at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust to work in Neonatal Transport (KIDSNTS) at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. KIDSNTS undertakes approximately 1200 neonatal transfers/ year, moving neonates between the 4 NICUs, 5 LNUs and 2 SCUs and 2 regional specialist hospitals (Birmingham Children’s and AlderHey). The successful appointee has responsibility for neonatal transfers between neonatal units and specialist hospitals. There is a 24/7 available ITU team (1 day; 1 night) and a single person team each day. There are dedicated ambulances and neonatal equipment on site. The post holder will work with the other 5 WTE consultants to provide consultant cover and develop the service which sits alongside the Paediatric Retrieval service (KIDS). This post attracts a total of 10 PAs. It includes 7.5 programmed activities (PA) of direct clinical care and 2.5 SPA (supporting professional activities). This Consultant post is a 10 PAs post, with 7.5 Clinical PAs and 2.5 SPAs. All PAs are undertaken for neonatal transport. The appointee will join the dedicated NTS team to provide high quality service delivery, maintain standards and protocols, to provide teaching and perform audit. When on service for NTS (BWC), the appointee will be accountable to the governance and terms and contractual requirements of BWC.
