About this Role
Ormiston NEW Academy are opening a brand-new SEND resource base for students with Speech, Language and Communication Needs. The base will cater for students ages 11 - 16 who have, or who are on the pathway for, an Education Health and Care plan with a specific need in communication and interaction. The resource base will provide a nurturing and safe space that will allow our young people to embrace who they are and learn to express themselves with confidence and passion. We are seeking a highly motivated, outstanding teacher to join the team for 0.8 FTE and to support and lead our students on their secondary school journey.
Ormiston NEW Academy, recently graded Ofsted 'Good', is a school based on a clear and defined pedagogical model and explicitly taught behavioural norms. The latest inspection report praises the school’s leaders for creating a "culture where positive behaviour and discipline are celebrated". It says that NEW Academy is a “vibrant school”, that students “enjoy coming to” and where they are “safe”. Students at NEW Academy understand that they must try their best and strive for excellence at all times,” In the most recent Ofsted inspection one student told inspectors, “I know that today will not be my best, because tomorrow will be better”.
