Are you a Registered Nurse who cares about patients and the quality of the care services provided? Have you completed a Children's Nurse course and want to focus on delivering a high standard of nursing care to children and their families? Corby UCC is looking for a forward-thinking Children's Nurse who will work as a member of the MDT to provide care to the youngest of our patients within the post holder’s scope of practice, under the supervision of a designated shift lead. The role encompasses the skills of assessment, clinical prioritisation and care navigation; as well as general nursing duties within an agreed scope of practice.
The children's nurse is expected to work within the National Curriculum and Competency Framework for Emergency Nursing levels 1 and 2 to safely care for children within Corby Urgent Care Centre. Working within their defined scope of practice, the nurse is expected to lead with the knowledge and skills required to safely care for children in a type 3 A&E setting.
The post holder is required to be registered with the relevant professional body.
What we're looking for:
* Registration as a Children’s Nurse by completing either the Postgraduate Diploma or the BSc in Children’s Nursing
* Substantial experience, post-registration, of managing acute undifferentiated presentations in an acute/urgent care setting
* Ability to triage (desirable)
* Evidence of understanding and insight into current issues in children's nursing.
* Coaching and Mentoring course i.e., 998 or equivalent (Desirable)
* Confidence and ability to accurately assess and manage complex patient presentations to a high professional standard
* Satisfactory DBS clearance
* Good understanding of autonomous practice within a minor illness/urgent care centre and the roles that deliver this
* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Experience in using I.T. based patient documentation systems.
* Knowledge of IT systems including System One, Adastra or EMIS (desirable)

About Corby Urgent Care Centre:
Corby Urgent Care Centre offers a high standard of unscheduled care from early morning to late evening for patients attending with a wide variety of undifferentiated conditions.
The centre is staffed primarily by our team of experienced urgent care clinicians with additional support from other clinical and non-clinical members of staff.
The team is made up of a mixed MDT including GPs, Advanced Practitioners, Nurses, and Urgent Care Technicians. They all work together to create a positive and rewarding workplace environment for colleagues delivering a high-quality experience for patients.
