East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust (EKHUFT) is looking to appoint a full-time Consultant in Neuro-rehabilitation, who will provide out-patient and ward referral services to the Trust as well as providing in-patient support to the neuro-rehabilitation ward. The Trust is one of the biggest in the country with three acute sites and an increasing commitment to working jointly with partners in the community.
The Consultant will have a continuing responsibility for the care of patients in their charge and to undertake the administrative duties associated with their care. They will be expected to co-operate with the Clinical Director and Care Group Management on organisational and budget issues.
n addition to inpatient and outpatient duties there are flexible commitments, including administration, management, committee work, relative interviews etc.
The successful applicants will be joining a team of 10 Consultant Neurologists, 2 Consultant Neurophysiologists and a Rehabilitation Consultant.
There are close links with the King’s College Hospital Regional Neuroscience Centre at Denmark Hill in London. The Consultants will be expected to develop specialist interests, and to make contributions to service development, research and teaching.
Applicants with postgraduate degrees, significant experience or specialist interest in movement or peripheral nerve disorders, motor neurone disease or epilepsy would be particularly welcome. Successful applicants will be expected to develop a specialist interest and to make contributions to service development, research and teaching.

The Neurosciences department has a strong history of Clinical Leadership, and we will encourage new colleagues to develop their Leadership and Management skills with education programs and mentorship.
The post-holder will be supported in undertaking relevant audits in the specialty area.
The post-holder will be expected to undertake CPD activities which will be supported through the agreed job plan. Active participation in appraisal and revalidation will take place on an annual cycle and access to mentoring is available through the Kent Clinician Development Programme.
Appropriate secretarial support will be provided as well as office space and IT equipment.
