Transactional Accounting Lead

Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 per annum + company bonus scheme
Location: Winnersh, RG41 (Hybrid)
Are you an experienced finance professional with a passion for leadership and a drive for process improvement? We're seeking a Transactional Accounting Lead to join our team and play a pivotal role in managing and optimising our financial operations across multiple European entities.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Head of Group Finance Shared Services, this is a critical position within our finance team. You'll ensure the seamless, accurate, and compliant delivery of month-end processes while overseeing Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Treasury, and Expenses functions. Your role will directly influence financial decisions and support business success.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership:
1. Lead, mentor, and inspire the transactional finance team.
2. Set performance goals and foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
3. Encourage collaboration within the team and across finance and business stakeholders.
2. Financial Operations:
1. Manage AP, AR, treasury, and expense processes across European jurisdictions.
2. Ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions, invoices, and payments.
3. Oversee cash flow, liquidity monitoring, and treasury administration.
4. Coordinate business insurance renewals and handle banking administration tasks.
3. Compliance and Risk Management:
1. Ensure adherence to financial regulations, internal policies, and robust internal controls.
2. Streamline and document processes to align with local compliance requirements.
3. Support external audits and drive risk mitigation strategies.
4. Financial Reporting:
1. Prepare, analyse, and present financial reports to senior management.
2. Monitor key financial metrics and KPIs to provide actionable insights.
5. Process Improvement and Automation:
1. Identify opportunities for process enhancements and automation.
2. Implement best practices to reduce manual processes and achieve efficiencies.
6. Stakeholder Engagement:
1. Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and financial institutions.
2. Overcome cultural and industry barriers to foster teamwork and business excellence.
Your Skills & Experience:
1. Preferably a qualified accountant with proven experience in transactional finance, including leadership roles.
2. Strong understanding of financial systems, processes, and regulations.
3. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
4. Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced environment.
5. Experience in process design and implementation, with a focus on local compliance requirements.
6. Familiarity with systems such as SAP BPC, Dynamics 365 Finance, Chrome River, Medius Flow, Blackline, SAP SAC, and Microsoft Office (Advanced).
