We are currently recruiting for a Senior Charge Midwife within our team at NHS Fife. You will have clinical, professional, and managerial responsibility for your own area, which includes all clinical and staff governance issues. The post holder is responsible for service provision, including the delivery of safe and effective clinical practice, ensuring that all local and national guidelines and targets are adhered to and met.
Our unit is modern and progressive with approximately 3000 births per year. The services include outpatient and community services, a complex care Consultant Unit, and an alongside Midwife Led Unit. We have an Induction of Labour unit and Elective Caesarean section team. We have the following additional teams:
1. Birth at Home Team
2. Vulnerable in Pregnancy
3. Infant Nutrition
4. Perinatal Mental Health
5. Child Protection
We are developing services in line with Best Start recommendations, focusing on increasing our rates of continuity of carer in the first instance.
We will encourage you with your professional development educationally via our dedicated Clinical Midwife Educator and Midwifery PEF. We have an extremely successful in-house leadership programme and regularly encourage staff to participate in external networking.
