We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Blood Science Laboratory within the Pathology Department at Prince Philip Hospital as a Band 2 Blood Science Support Worker.
The post is part time, 32 hours per week and there is a requirement to participate on the evening, weekend and bank holiday rota (there is extra remuneration for staff on this rota).
The successful candidate will be required to undertake a wide range of duties appropriate to the job role including specimen reception duties involving receipt, preparation, processing, storage and disposal of clinical laboratory specimens and samples. Full training will be provided upon commencement.
Main duties of the job
The role includes Specimen Reception duties, where the post holders will receipt, prepare, process, store and dispose of clinical laboratory specimens and samples.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
